Beach clean-ups are vital to mitigate the problem caused by ocean debris and the danger that plastic pollution poses to marine life! We make sure that we integrate this skillset among the youngsters

How Does It Work?
We at Jay Foundation are a Non-Government organization dedicated to creating awareness and bringing about a change in society for environmental conservation and sustainable development. This is being carried out through various initiatives and campaigns for the betterment of our environment while engaging common people. We are determined to make Maharashtra an ideal state by promoting and implementing environmental friendly measures to solve the current environmental issues.
We have been conducting Beach Cleanup Campaign for more than 6 years at various beaches in Mumbai, primarily at Dadar and Mahim. In the year 2021 we kickstarted a campaign where we are now conducting beach cleanups at 40 beaches in 7 districts across the coastline of Maharashtra. Beach cleanups are conducted at least twice a month at all of these locations. It involves a minimum of 100 volunteers at each location. We have engaged more than 1,00,000 plus volunteers and cleared 12000+ tons of plastic removed and other waste from our beaches to date. We are now working on improving the overall safety, cleanliness, and beautification of these beaches.
Under our “Plastic Free Mumbai” initiative, we collect plastic from various residential complexes and recycle it. We have successfully recycled more than 2000 tons in the last 4 years. In addition, we also conduct various environmental campaigns like the Nail Free Tree campaign, Tree Plantation Drive, Awareness programs for Schools and Colleges, etc. Some of our social campaigns include Food grains and Meal distribution, Clothes and Toys Donations for underprivileged kids, etc. This has been made possible by the generous and unwavering support we have received from all our supporters and well-wishers.
